PR Guidebook: Gigi and Bella Edition

While Kimye and T-Swift #BreakTheInternet hashing out their frequent drama, the models Hadid have a more neutral approach to dealing with the spotlight. While creating your own buzz has its benefits, staying out of the public eye can be helpful as well. Here are five PR takeaways from the 21 and 19-year-old super ladies:

Maintain good relationships, even when they come to an end

Gigi won over many hearts when she publicly supported Zayn Malik’s decision to cancel his show in London due to anxiety. Although the couple was split at the time, Gigi put her differences aside to comfort her ex-boyfriend during his time of turmoil. This goes to show, leaving an overall good impression on people that you build relationships with, whether short or long term, is important because even when relationships aren’t at their highest peak, they are more likely to support you in times of need. That’s right, no bad blood here!

Keep good company

It’s great to have friends that support what you do, and even better when it’s your sister. Add some supermodel friends to the mix and it makes a dream team that any designer would love to hire. This is true for the Hadid babes who can be seen modelling alongside friends Kendall Jenner, Joan Smalls, Hailey Baldwin and Cara Delevingne. The PR world is small, so being friends with other talented pr professionals goes a long way. Take a lesson from the pros: being buds with your competition can be more beneficial than being enemies.

Avoid negative attention

Besides relationship status, there isn’t much chatter from the gossip squad about Yolanda’s lil ladies. Of course, their lives aren’t as picture perfect as they seem, but you don’t find these two hanging their dirty laundry out to dry for the world to see. People who maintain positive ~vibes~ are what PR pros dream of. But then again, any publicity is better than no publicity at all, right?

Kill em’ with style

The Hadid sisters can be seen running around the streets of NYC owning the Athleisure trend in the day, then strutting the red carpet in sexy gowns by night. This year, Gigi nailed the theme at Met Gala by wearing a beautiful futuristic dress from Tommy Hilfiger. Bella outdid herself in an Alexandre Vauthier dress featuring a plunging neckline and ultra-high slit to the Cannes Film Festival. Taking notes from these trendsetters is wise, but let’s leave the ultra risqué dresses to the pros, who can effortlessly avoid wardrobe malfunctions.

Wanna be on top?

It cannot be denied that Gigi and Bella are two of the hottest models right now. Gigi has modeled for luxury brands like Versace, Chanel, Balmain and has co-designed a collection with Tommy Hilfiger, coming fall 2016. Not to be outdone, Bella has recently become the ambassador for Dior and has modeled for brands like GivenchyBalmain and Calvin Klein. Seen through the Hadid sisters, climbing your way to the top doesn’t have to involve cat fights, Twitter beefs or back-stabbing. Instead, make friends with people of similar interests, maintain good relationships and slay at your job.

Now that’s classy.
