Spring has sprung, but even a few rose buds cannot make March the best month ever. Instead, it’s a couple of weeks in March dedicated to complete madness. Madness crafted by the creation of brackets that are meant to be broken, adjusted, only to be broken again. Brackets that question your ability to gamble for the rest of your life. Madness dedicated to cinderellas and underdogs. It is madness that college basketball fans refer to as March Madness.
The madness begins with 64 teams and ends with one. There’s no time for words like, “we’ll do better next time,” because there will be no next time. Every season is different for college teams as seniors graduate and other players get drafted into the NBA. In this highly anticipated basketball tournament, teams have one shot to be their best.
March Madness willingly forces you to turn off your mobile devices to give your full attention to the events unfolding, like huge comebacks and insane buzzer-beaters. As the championship game is set for tomorrow, I am saddened to know that the madness is coming to an end.
