Travel Journal: To the Goddess of Water

Phra Mae Thorani take away my negative transgressions and negatives thoughts. Like in the morning when I toss one pillow at my alarm clock and the other pillow over my head. When I honk my horn at the cars in front of me, for driving under 120 km/hr on the highway. Last but not least, when I feel like chucking my cup of coffee out the window when my medium “double double” is missing sugar.

A week after wandering the streets of Bangkok, I found myself cruising in a long-tail boat across the Andaman Sea, in a cave, offering my kra throng to the Goddess of Water in exchange for success. The floating kra thong symbolizes letting go of all one’s hatred, anger, and defilements. These pictures are my constant reminder to not get worked up over trivial issues, like my morning coffee.

  1. Beautiful! Yes the magic of Thailand. It’s ideals and mythical stories remind us of a better way to live and think.
